Perennial. Spreading perennial that forms thick mats with tight clusters of rose purple flowers. Very fragrant; useful for planting between stepping stones and at the edge of walks, where its vigorous growth habit is a virtue. Creeping Thyme does well in sunny beds, borders, rock gardens, and spilling over rock walls. Once it is established it is fairly drought tolerant. USDA Hardiness zones 4 to 9.
